MyFreedomDay Dialogues 2026

Young people will have the opportunity to share and learn about Human Trafficking and safe migration as part of MyFreedomDay. They will explore the ways this important issue impacts the world and your own community through dialogue.

About the #MyFreedomDay campaign

11 March 2026 is #MyFreedomDay - an international campaign to raise awareness about human trafficking and slavery, organised by CNN International. The campaign invites young people, schools, individuals, and organisations around the world to participate in activities on this day of action to celebrate freedom and speak up and act out for those who are unable to. It is also an opportunity to show their support on behalf of 12 million children trapped in modern day slavery.

About #MyFreedomDay Dialogues

Dialogues around human trafficking can take us to the heart of what it means to be human; how we value each other and what our responsibilities are to one another. Generation Global in collaboration with Street Grace is organising special online global dialogues on the topic of human trafficking on #MyFreedomDay for young people aged 13 to 17.

These special dialogues will allow young people to share their authentic perspectives on the value of human life with one another and explore critical questions around human trafficking by hearing real life experiences and building connections with their global peers.

The 60-minute virtual dialogues will be moderated by Generation Global's trained facilitators between 9 and 13 March 2026.

Testimonials

  • I wanted to thank you initially for having us in the human trafficking discussion. Our students absolutely loved the discussion and enjoyed talking to other students worldwide and sharing their perspectives on this topic. Our students loved tackling this issue and were inspired by the youth's action to ending human trafficking and addressing issues that are related to it.

    Teacher, Kosovo

  • "The dialogue about human trafficking was very serious for me, but also important. I learned that human trafficking is not only about taking people to other countries but also can happen inside the same country. Some people in the dialogue shared examples from their own community, and that surprised me. This dialogue influenced me a lot, because it made me more aware that this problem is real and close, not only something we see on the news. Now I think more about how young people, especially girls, should be careful and how we can raise awareness in our communities.".

    Student from Armenia

  • "During their video conference about Human Trafficking, the students were always respectful towards each other, even if they disagreed, fostering a safe space to discuss views and perspectives. They showed genuine interest by asking questions and responding to them. They even talked about challenging topics such as how to compensate human trafficking victims. They were focused and clear in their responses to the question and actively listened by responding to each other's comments and questions."
