Generation Global Newsletter - Issue 4, 2025
In moments when the world feels divided, young people show us that reflection, curiosity, and conversation can still bring us closer.
Welcome to our Q4 2025 newsletter!
This quarter has been rich with reflection, reinforcement, and global connection. From young people exploring the realities of climate change through COP30 Youth Dialogues, to the launch of a new topic on Artificial Intelligence, to deepening our partnerships in Rwanda and engaging with educators and stakeholders at the GESS conference in Dubai and IB Dunia Conference in Jakarta - the past months have shown how dialogue continues to help young people make sense of our fast-changing world.
Through it all, we continued meeting students and teachers where they are - through our school visits, info sessions and webinars. Every story we encountered affirms a simple truth: when young people practise dialogue, they help strengthen the world they shape.
Thank you for being with us through another impactful quarter. Wishing you Season’s Greetings this Festive time!
Best,
The Generation Global Team
COP30 Youth Dialogues: Young people envisioning a sustainable future
As global leaders gathered in Belém for COP30, young people across 27 countries created their own space for reflection through our virtual COP30 Youth Dialogues. Across 27 video conferences, more than 1,200 students exchanged personal stories on climate change, examined how environmental challenges shape their lives, and listened to diverse perspectives on justice, resilience, and responsibility.
A student from Mexico shared:
‘Hearing real stories from people my age made climate change feel way more real than just reading about it in class. The conversation definitely changed my perspective, it made me realize that even small actions matter and that young people actually have a voice in this issue. Overall, the dialogue made me more aware, more curious, and honestly more motivated to help in any way I can.’

Strengthening dialogue-based learning in Rwanda
In October, our Director, Lucy Hayter, together with Partnerships Lead, Robin Keshaw were in Rwanda to deepen collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB). Along with Seth Buhigiro , Rwanda Coordinator, the team met Hon. Joseph Nsengimana, Minister of Education, who reaffirmed the programme’s alignment with national priorities, and Dr. Nelson Mbarushimana, Director General of REB, whose continued support and endorsement of programme expansion remain pivotal to its growth.
School visits across Kigali further illustrated the programme’s impact. Students spoke of growing confidence, stronger English fluency and technological understanding, and greater openness in listening to others. As one student shared, “At first, I wanted to speak more and be heard. Now I try to help my friends speak and learn to listen.” The team also visited IB schools and non-profits and explored promising synergies.

Bringing dialogue alive in schools
Our team visited 23 schools across the UAE, India, and Indonesia to engage deeply with dialogue-based learning this quarter. Student interactions and workshops with SABIS International and GEMS Millennium in Sharjah, City Montessori schools in Lucknow, Sunbeam schools in Varanasi and Podar group of schools in Gujarat along with other schools in New Delhi, Mohali and Jakarta created reflective spaces that strengthened students’ confidence and global awareness. Schools expressed enthusiasm to expand participation and integrate Generation Global more intentionally into their learning environments.
