The IB Festival of Hope is an initiative that creates space for young people to express themselves and engage in discussions about the most challenging issues they face today. The aim is to convene diverse voices in the community to express what it will take to turn complex challenges into opportunities of positivity and hope. This panel is the first time Festival of Hope is discussed at an IB educator conference. IB’s Director General Olli-Pekka Heinonen discusses the ‘why’ behind Festival of Hope, shares some of the recent updates from the last year and engages in a discussion with youth leaders from across Asia-Pacific to explore how educators can continue to support young people in creating inspiration, building community and taking action.
