Global Youth Action Fund
What the Fund supports
Projects in the 2026 cohort include a course in international relations and public speaking for visually impaired young people in India, a Biology Olympiad for girls in Brazil, a project in the United States that collects athletic shoes and passes them on to people who need them, and an education project working with Indigenous young people in Peru.
Each project contributes to at least one of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
What awardees receive
The grant covers the costs of the project itself, and the amount depends on what the project needs.
Awardees also get help with the practical side of running a project, such as planning the work and managing the budget. They join a cohort of young people from dozens of countries who are running projects at the same time and can talk through problems with each other.
Who the Fund is for
The Fund is for young people aged 12 to 19 who are in secondary school. They do not need to attend an IB World School, and a project can be led by one person or by a team.
The Fund so far
In 2026, young people sent 1,110 applications from 103 countries, and the cohort is 324 young people running 110 projects in 42 countries. Since 2022, the Fund has supported more than 1,000 young people across more than 400 projects.
