Act Local, Feel Global: The Battery Recycle Program

This project aims to build a green recycling loop with a two-part chain: a public awareness-raising section and a monitoring section.

This project aims to build a green recycling loop with a two-part chain: a public awareness-raising section and a monitoring section.

It is not just a normal project, telling people facts and persuading them to start their action; however, it turns things fun, encouraging people to genuinely care about protecting the environment and put it into action.

The public awareness-raising section primarily focuses on the development of a dedicated website. First, the fun fact informing part. It turns dry data into fun animations, letting users see the risks instead of the benefits. A Personal Eco-Action Tracker collects personal data and turns it into a map showing different levels of environmental friendliness every month. Second, the monitoring section. Dedicated battery collection sites will be established. By using phones to scan the QR code on the machine, the space for the battery to get in will open, letting the waste batteries be gathered. Through GYAF, I want to encourage more people to participate in the project, not just wanting to protect the Earth, but also taking action. Furthermore, it can lay a solid foundation for expanding the project nationwide, eventually reaching the global stage.
