For the past two years, IRNA has operated an emergency education intervention and recovery initiative to support Gazan children fleeing genocide and loss, seeking refuge in Jordan - the second highest per capita refugee-hosting country globally - while stoically battling cancer.

This growth and learning initiative comprises a blended programme, including both in-school and residential learning. It is designed to compensate Gazan children for out-of-school time during the war, and to accompany children during their medical treatment journey which often necessitates prolonged periods away from regular classes.

Through scaffolded and personalised learning for each child and using bespoke resources, IRNA aims to enrich foundational literacy and numeracy skills, offers social and physical support, and provides free transportation and meals. During weekends and holidays, our community organises storytelling, literacy and numeracy sessions, talk about life, run around, and have tonnes of fun with our new friends.

IRNA also operates an intensive summer intervention to mitigate learning loss, and residential intervention ensuring safe and continuous positive personal growth for the most vulnerable and secluded children.
