Our project Darmarka is a community environmental initiative that aims to promote recycling and responsible consumption in our city.

We organized a large environmental event that brought together students, volunteers, and local residents from all over the city. What began as a small school initiative grew into a city-wide event attended by more than 5,000 people. Together with 200 volunteers from our school and the wider community we collected and sorted different types of recyclable waste including plastic, paper, glass, textiles, metal, and electronic waste.

The main goal of our project is to make recycling more accessible and understandable for people in our city. Recycling culture is still developing, and many residents do not always have convenient opportunities to recycle their waste. Through Darmarka we wanted to create a space where people could actively participate in environmental action and learn how small everyday choices can contribute to protecting the environment.

In the future, we hope to expand Darmarka by organizing the event regularly and adding educational workshops about sustainability and recycling. By sharing our project through the IB community, we hope to inspire other students and schools to take environmental action and start similar initiatives in their own communities.
