Access to resources required to debate at a competitive level have long been gate kept in India. With elite urban schools having access to the best material and expensive coating, schools in smaller cities are unable to provide a similar quality and quantity of resources to their students.

Access to resources required to debate at a competitive level have long been gate kept in India. With elite urban schools having access to the best material and expensive coating, schools in smaller cities are unable to provide a similar quality and quantity of resources to their students.

We founded Debaters of India to change the status quo. We are India’s largest student led debate community, with over 750 members. We have hosted 8 low or no cost tournaments, conducted 20+ training sessions and enabled 1200+ students to participate in tournaments.

We have worked with NGOs to teach underprivileged kids the art of voicing their opinions in both Hindi and English. Each of our events allows young debaters to receive in-depth personalised feedback, access to high quality debate resources and guides along with also building a network of teammates. As an organisation, we are currently working on developing communication skills within middle school students, not just for debate but as a life skill.
