Profile
Environmental Ambassodors
Our Environmental Ambassadors will help children learn the art of growing and planting trees, empower students to be conservation friendly, and improve livelihoods through sustainable natural resource management.
The project will impart students with understanding of how agroforestry can improve the environment, livelihood, farm productivity and long-term sustainability. Project will raise varieties of trees; environmentally friendly trees, fruit trees and non-timber forest products (NTFP) trees. The Nursery is established and run by students. Students will receive technical guidance tailored to their tree planting and livelihood needs. Knowledge exchanges will be carried out in the areas of tree domestication, soil fertility restoration, biodiversity conservation, watershed management, organic farming, environmental education, and cultivation and promotion of economic trees 5000 trees will be raised in the nurseries and planted every year. We shall implement a tree planting campaign with students, plant trees along the streets of Mamfe in collaboration with the municipal council. The project will sell some seedlings raised to community members for farm enrichment. This will enable them to plough back into the project for sustainability. We plan to sell at least 2000 seedlings each year. The money raised will be used to continue the project in the future.
