Grassroots Care Package Mission
Our project is a care package mission that aims to help those who have been affected in recent floods in Taliwang, West Sumbawa, Indonesia by providing hygiene-oriented care packages in line with the SDG promoting health, because the floods would have left the families' homes in unsanitary conditions.
We have researched the items to include in the care packages such as personal care items like toothpaste and soap but also a water purifying straw which will give the families access to clean drinking water. With the funding we receive, we will purchase the items, assemble them with volunteers and distribute the care packages to an impoverished school(s) with students between the ages of 3 and 7 years old. This project will result in better health for poor families affected by the floods, including mental health as we plan to include a toy to engage the children in the families.
