The world is facing a serious food crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In Indonesia, the alarm for a food crisis has been raised since early 2023 because of disruptions in the global supply chain caused by conflicts in different countries. Unfortunately, those who are most vulnerable, including people living in poverty, children, orphans, marginalized individuals like the elderly, women, displaced people, refugees, and those with disabilities, are the ones most affected by food insecurity. The causes of the food crisis in Indonesia are insecure stocks, unstable food prices, and a lack of food self-sufficiency. To address this issue, we are implementing solutions like creating hydroponic gardens to provide a sustainable source of food for those in need, because hydroponic gardens can ensure that those people can get food immediately when they need it. Additionally, donating food supplies can help alleviate the food shortage and reduce the number of people affected by food insecurity in Indonesia.
