House of Udyog

At the onset of Covid-19, we recognised the urgency of creating a source of income for as many people as possible, while protecting the environment. Through House of Udyog, we leverage technology, such as social media and e-commerce to bridge the gap between environmentally-conscious consumers and local artisans, promoting socioeconomic diversity.

We use Global Recycle Standard certified materials for pret-wear, generating minimal carbon footprint. To do so, we collaborated with local process engineers, innovating modifications to the mainstream garment-manufacturing process and promoting the development of sustainable source material.

Endorsing the Prime Minister’s Make in India initiative, House of Udyog has recruited 25+ rural artisans who are skilled in traditional handiwork. To initiate the project, we crowdfunded $750 and so far, have sold 160 units, raising $1550+, which has directly contributed towards increasing the monthly family income of the artisans by 35%. House of Udyog won the 3rd prize among 1900 participants at the International-Citizen-Entrepreneurship-Competition, 2021. We have received a state commendation from the Honourable Governor of Punjab on India’s Independence Day, while also receiving endorsements from renowned educationists, fashion designers and celebrities.

We hope to onboard more rural artisans to our venture, while positively impacting the environment through our mission.
