Katoogo Development Project - Hands of Hope
Promoting inclusive, equitable, and quality education, along with the promotion of lifelong learning opportunities is one of the many UN Sustainable Development Goals.
However, many Ugandan students are met with the misfortune of having little to no quality learning conditions; the reasons for this stem from various community and personal related problems respective to each student. Because of this, my colleagues and I, under our service project, 'The Katoogo Development Project' decided to take the necessary action to make a difference in our community and country as a whole.
Pearl Junior School, located in the heart of the Katoogo Village is an educational institution facing various difficulties in the delivery of quality eduction to students. However, through furniture refurbishment, provision of learning, teaching, cooking, and recreation materials, we hope to improve the state of the school and community. We aspire to improve the student’s quality of learning by providing a more conducive environment for education and growth, both inside and outside the classroom.
