Likha's Cradle Guardian Initiative: Advancing Animal Welfare Through Tech
The Likha’s Cradle Guardian Initiative is more than just a global competition—it’s a call to action for young people who care deeply about the Sustainable Development Goal 15, Life On Land, and want to make a difference using technology.
Open to youth ages 13–18, this initiative invites participants to design real solutions—like AI tools, robotics, or tech-based systems—that can help shelters and rescue organizations care for animals and improve animal welfare. But we’re not doing this alone. With the help of mentors, shelter partners, and experts, participants will bring their ideas to life in ways that truly matter. What makes this special is the heart behind it. It’s about turning compassion into action and helping young people realize they have the power to create change. Even after the competition ends, we want them to walk away as advocates—more aware, more inspired, and more committed to making the world better and in aligned with the SDG 15. Thanks to the support from the IB Global Youth Action Fund, we can make this opportunity accessible to youth everywhere. With their help, we’re not just launching projects—we’re helping young people believe in their ability to lead with purpose and kindness.
