Maasik Haq! (My Right to Menstrual Equity)
Maasik Haq aims to destigmatize menstruation for tribal women living currently in conservative tribal communities.
By conducting sessions, interactions and open forum discussions about menstruation, sanitary napkin distribution drives with tribal women in Chhattisgarh, India, collaborating with UNICEF Chhattisgarh and producing a documentary on the lives and stories of these tribal women, Maasik Haq hopes to empower and represent tribal women as a significant socio-economic faction in the Indian subcontinent. As an IB learner and active CAS participant for the last few years, I have realised that the IB whilst inspiring the youth to drive change is also producing responsible citizens and world leaders who bestow a vision for the future, stemming from their past and present only to ‘give back to the society’ which is given us so much and for so long… Furthermore, as a young changemaker, I believe that the youth can genuinely contribute to making a meaningful impact every day when their skills and commitment are channelled in the right direction.
