Oleum
Introducing Oleum: our innovative solution to the issue of waste cooking oil.
Annually, 706 million gallons of oil are discharged into oceans, wreaking havoc on marine ecosystems. To combat this, we've developed an are-in-one sustainable cleaner, Oleum, in our school chemistry lab. It efficiently cleans glass, floors, and wood, all while repurposing used cooking oil. Through partnerships with schools, we're implementing a collection system to transform used oil into Oleum, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 12. Our goal is to produce 100 L of Oleum monthly, preventing 302.5 L of waste oil from polluting water bodies. By involving student task forces and CAS companion groups, we empower students to contribute to a cleaner environment while gaining hands-on experience.
