PLANET or PLASTIC

We wanted to make the community we are a part of more aware of this issue and encourage them to use less plastic in their daily life. We made posters and hung them around the IB floor then at the end of April we did a presentation to all IB and preIB students in our school and asked them to bring their own water bottles during the month of May instead of buying single use ones from the school canteen. We bought a water fountain in the IB floor and for the student who brought their water bottles to fill them, with the money we got from two bake sales. We selected students from each class and collected data. We also added a competition. Overall, we hoped to encourage students to bring their own water bottles instead of buying single use ones from the canteen and I think we were successfull because me and my teammates continued seeing water bottles in student desks even after the competition was done.
