Plastic factory is a mini assembly line which converts waste PET bottles into a filament which can be fed into a 3D printer.
Plastic factory is a mini assembly line which converts waste PET bottles into a filament which can be fed into a 3D printer.
This enables the printing of a variety of 3D printed products such as toys, keychains, pencil holders, trays and more (all made out of waste plastic). Currently, plastic factory is at a prototype stage (1 system) and using the funding given by the IB, we aim to scale it to a garage level setup (5 systems). This will enable the recycling of 7200 PET bottles a month, thereby reducing plastic waste being dumped in Bangalore and promoting the production and consumption of 100% recycled products.
