Project Setu
Project Setu is a youth-led initiative tackling student disengagement and rising secondary school dropout rates in under-resourced communities across Karnataka.
Meaning “bridge” in Sanskrit, Setu connects students with opportunities beyond traditional academics to foster a lifelong interest in learning. In many rural government schools, students lack platforms to build the confidence, creativity, and real-world skills necessary to stay motivated.
To address this gap, we conduct interactive sessions in crochet, dance, and computer literacy. By integrating these creative and technical skills into the school experience, we create an inclusive environment that improves attendance and strengthens the student-school connection.
Our mission directly supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by providing a holistic learning experience that empowers students. To date, we have impacted 300 students through structured programs and are in active conversations with nearly 60 schools to expand our reach.
Supported by the IB Global Youth Action Fund, we will scale our impact and build a sustainable, student-led model. Ultimately, our vision is to transform school into a place every student wants to return to…every single day.
