Projeto Mãos na Massa

Projeto Mãos na Massa is an NGO devoted to building housing for disabled individuals in a state of social vulnerability. The NGO is actively combating the lack of visibility and hardships of the disabled community in Brazil. Through the construction of adapted housing and campaigns to raise awareness, the project is creating a better future for this community, brick by brick!

Over the past few years, the project has completed over 11 projects and constructed 13 homes, but recently the initiative has expanded, now counting over 50 members from two different schools. Projeto Mãos na Massa is a key service activity for many IB students, driving youths to become social entrepreneurs. Through large fundraising events including quiz nights, football cups and presentations at conventions, we raise awareness and bring the issues experienced by the disabled and underprivileged community closer to the spotlight.

In the second semester of 2023, we will be rebuilding Carlos Alberto's family home as he suffers from arthrogryposis syndrome and currently lives in an unfinished and unadapted house. Projeto Mãos na Massa seeks to continue impacting the lives of those most vulnerable and inspire youths to drive social change.
