RainReach: Harvesting Hope
In Kenya’s semi-arid regions, water scarcity disrupts education and threatens community health.
RainReach tackles this challenge by installing efficient rainwater harvesting systems in schools, ensuring sustainable access to clean water. By capturing and storing rainwater, we empower schools to withstand dry seasons, reduce waterborne illnesses, and promote environmental stewardship.
This project aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation) by improving water security and climate resilience. Beyond infrastructure, we foster student-led water conservation clubs, engaging the community in sustainable practices.
Impact:
- Reliable water for drinking, sanitation, and school gardens.
- Reduced absenteeism due to water-related illnesses.
- Climate-smart education and community collaboration.
With support from the IB, we’re turning rain into a resource for health, education, and hope. Join us in building a future where every drop counts!
