River Rebirth
River Rebirth is a teen-led movement aiming to restore Jakarta's polluted rivers to their natural state.
Our movement plans to implement floating barriers in rivers in Jakarta to stop the flow of solid waste before going to the ocean. We’ve also built an efficient waste management system that will help us both effectively collect solid waste from the rivers, and reduce waste to landfills by recycling them.
Just as a phoenix rises from ash, we envision a future where rivers in Jakarta are reborn, bursting with vitality, life, and ecological richness. They will once again become sources of energy, sanctuaries of serenity, and a haven for all beings. Our movement aims to improve the water quality and sanitary in the river area and increase the accessibility to clean water for local communities.
