We are Romainder, a youth organisation based in Singapore, Fiji, Nigeria, Vietnam and USA that aims to initiate ground-up community volunteering initiatives alongside today's youth and involve them in how food is accumulated to reduce the excess food waste produced by our planet. In the past, we’ve held awareness events in our schools and worked with farms and projects for food rescues at wholesale markets and at aquafarms. Currently, Romainder is also a part of the Slow Food Youth Organisation network, enabling us to have a standing in the international community.

We have teamed up with farms and community outreach projects which collects 2.5-5 tonnes of food waste weekly from wholesale markets and we also look towards diverting the waste created and creating awareness on better ways to consume food. Ultimately, we want to ensure we foster a better future not only for our nations, but our entire planet, by creating a circular economy where all individuals actively contribute to upcycling and food valorisation. It is crucial that we look to actively combat this issue head on, slowing down humanity’s wasteful impact as well as ensuring that every resource we use and sacrificed, is fully utilised to its maximum potential.
