StreetSmart
StreetSmart is an initiative I started after witnessing multiple road accidents in my community, which prompted me to take action and work toward preventing further loss of life.
According to the World Health Organisation, road traffic crashes claim approximately 1.19 million lives globally each year, highlighting the urgent need for greater awareness and preventive action. StreetSmart focuses on promoting road safety awareness through social media campaigns, awareness sessions for school students, and counselling sessions for road traffic rule violators.
Through these efforts, the initiative aims to encourage responsible behavior on the roads and educate people about the importance of following traffic rules. Moving forward, we hope to expand our impact by making our initiatives more inclusive, particularly by supporting people with disabilities, such as those who are visually impaired or have hearing loss. Ultimately, our goal is to make roads safer for everyone and ensure that every person can travel safely and return home without harm.
