SustainaBite
Sustainabite is a youth-led initiative that transforms brewery byproducts into affordable, nutritious food.
Every day, large quantities of beer spent grain (BSG)—a high-protein, high-fiber residue—are discarded. Sustainabite rescues this overlooked resource and converts it into flour that can be easily integrated into daily meals like roti, bread, and snacks, without altering taste or texture.
With support from the IB Youth Action Fund, we’re expanding Sustainabite’s impact through multiple pathways: creating protein-rich snacks, fortified breads, and instant meal kits; improving our food processing with better drying, milling, and packaging technology; and developing ready-to-eat products for disaster relief and emergency response.
We’re also partnering with nutritionists to enhance our formulations and ensure our products meet diverse dietary needs. Our goal is to scale this solution nationwide by establishing distribution hubs across India—reaching more kitchens, feeding more families, and proving that waste can feed the future.
