Toys For Thoughts
The goal of Toys for Thoughts is to design toys that promote cognitive engagement among the elderly and raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease. In fact, it is projected that by 2060, there will be 13.8 million people living with Alzheimer’s disease.
To address this issue, we design toys that help slow the progression of Alzheimer’s by engaging cognitive skills such as problem-solving and memory. So far, we have been able to donate our toys for long-term use to more than 30 elderly individuals. We collaborate with the Jeju Elderly Care Center (제주도립노인요양원) in Jeju, South Korea. We conduct workshops at this center, introducing our toys and actively engaging with the elderly community.
To continuously improve our toys, we gather feedback and observe how they are used during interactions. Ultimately, Toys for Thoughts hopes to expand by producing a more diverse and larger number of toys and donating them to more organizations in South Korea. Toys for Thoughts also strives to promote an inclusive society where the elderly can remain mentally healthy and supported.
