Turning Cold Barriers Into Learning Bridges
Turning Cold Barriers Into Learning Bridges was created with a vision to improve access to education for the girls at the local orphanage, Desert Rose.
Given cold, harsh temperatures in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, during the winter season, the orphanages’ library is negatively impacted as the building has no insulation and the library has a limited learning environment, which is an issue my project seeks to help solve.
Through the funding received by the IBO, the library of the orphanage will be furnished with better insulation and heating as a priority. To ensure a safe, accessible learning environment, an internet and camera system will be implemented, turning the library into a learning space that encourages the girls to read, study, and grow regardless of cold barriers.
