Virtutem Populo

is a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting civic engagement and community involvement among youth in Miami-Dade County. Our mission is to create a more civically minded and engaged society through programming, advocacy, and education. Civics is the backbone of our country, without it our system of government because baseless, and our communities become worthless. That said, it is crucial that we actively work to close civic literacy gaps and expose students to the processes of government. Specifically, IB's grant will partially our Civic Knowledge Bowl, Civics Across Borders Program, and our Youth Empowerment Program. We hope to increase civic literacy rates amongst middle and high school students, expose students to the civic world outside of the United States, develop a network of student-run passion projects, and create meaningful civic experiences by directly engaging students with their local municipal governments.
