ZiMC-SHERD (Zimuto Mission Clinic Solar-led Health Expansion & Retool Drive)
This is a student-driven initiative to create a step-by-step transformation of the Zimuto Mission Clinic through the installation of solar panels, setting up of a waiting tent, and finishing of an incomplete two being room that had been lying idle since 2021.
In its definition, Zimuto Mission Clinic- Solar-led Health Expansion and Retool Drive (ZiMC-SHERD ) has undertaken a development within the Zimuto community, fourteen kilometers from Masvingo Central Business District that seeks to: help shelter waiting patients and the elderly from the blazing sun and light rains, ensure lighting and heating within the maternity ward in times where the erratic power supply strikes the clinic, help increase the bedding capacity to reduce incidences that may arise affecting patients in transit to major hospitals. The subactions include enlightening students at Zimuto High and the sister school, Copota for the Blind on the importance of social entrepreneurship, thus achieving the prime SDG 3 together with SDG7 altogether.
